New category: academic homepages

We have added a new collection to web shufflr focused on the academic web. This category features nearly 10,000 personal homepages belonging to researchers, laboratories, students, and faculty at US-based universities.

Websites were sourced from a 2012 crawl repository. Because of the age, the collection offers a wide range of web history, with some pages dating back more than 25 years.

This collection includes websites untouched since they were first made in the 1990s like (umass.edu), (msu.edu), (wisc.edu), websites abandoned in the 2000s like (cmu.edu), (berkley.edu), (ucsb.edu), to modern websites that are currently maintained such as (tmc.edu), (mtu.edu), (swarthmore.edu).
